This hotel grips you from the very moment you walk through the swinging doors, from the grand, modern, reception area to the spectacular artwork on the far wall, all of which is inspired by the city of Glasgow. The Crowne Plaza hotel is a building which makes you proud to be a part of Glasgow.
My partner took me to the Crowne Plaza as a birthday present and I was amazed at the service we received. The staff were very helpful, and even helped set up the room with petals, champagne and chocolate strawberries so that I would be surprised as I entered the room along with my partner.
The room was spacious and contemporary with a stunning view of the city centre, with the Armadillo, the River Clyde and Finnieston Crane, to name but a few landmarks, in the foreground, which, as night falls, becomes an even more spectacular sight.
The food was equally as pleasing as the surroundings upon visiting the ground floor dining area at breakfast. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff whilst being seated for the buffet style banquet. There are foods for all tastes and preferences available, with everything from cereal and fruit to bacon and eggs. Personally, I would strongly recommend the pancakes!
Overall, our stay in The Crowne Plaza was extremely enjoyable. Even though it is a large chain hotel, there is a personal and homely atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff and well cooked, tasty food, just two of a number of reasons for a repeat visit.
